Founded by Albertine van Iterson, who curates each retreat – mostly from behind the scenes – always collaborating with a collective of women in the well-being field, including movement and meditation teachers, healers, coaches, creatives, and chefs. Selecting a team of 4 women for each retreat, aligned with the theme and movement practice focus. This co-creation results in a multi-sensory journey interweaving movement, mindfulness, personal growth, togetherness, and creativity – always in awe-inspiring locations in quiet corners of Europe's nature.
With a background rooted in creativity, hospitality, movement, and a love for slow travel, she designs retreats from the perspective of a guest. Unlike an often somewhat one-sided teacher-student dynamic, she and the team fosters unique guidance with a warm dynamic among peers in an intimate community setting. She believes that the power of shared vulnerability, shared joy, and a collective commitment can act as a catalyst in an individual's journey toward holistic well-being.
At she she, we feel that well-being extends beyond 'simply living a healthy lifestyle' and that always cooking at home, lots of sleep, meditating and going to the studio each day is simply not doable for most of us. Understanding the daily challenges faced by hardworking women, whether in the professional realm or in motherhood, often even juggling many roles.
Characterized by a genuine understanding of the multifaceted experiences and challenges of women, the collective creates well-being experiences that resonate with the realities of our lives. They go beyond reducing the retreat program to two long classes that often have a one-sided teacher-student dynamic, by also offering hands on workshops, small tools, and rituals. This inclusive approach ensures that the guests actively participate using hands and minds, offering guidance that is adaptable and implementable in life after the retreat.
Taking a contemporary approach to well-being, our retreats don’t follow a strict schedule. What we eat and how we eat is a reflection of the relationship we form with ourselves, our community and our environment. Expect a dynamic vegetarian menu, combining local and seasonal ingredients with the taste of the Mediterranean.
In the morning we practise silence, where we do not speak and recommend avoiding screens or even reading a book. Just awaken, just be. Embrace these sacred, often so seldom, moments of peace.
During our morning practices, we gather energy through dynamic and restorative movement sessions, some more guided, some more intuitive. Practices such as meditation and breath-work will further support both mind and body, and help you to unwind.
