Chaima El Haddaoui
Chaima will be sharing her insights on TCM during Ascend in Mallorca from April 27 to May 1.
Well-being for women to me is:
A harmonious integration of physical, emotional and spiritual elements. Understanding the importance of our cycle and finding a state of balance and vitality unique to each woman. Well-being is not just the absence of illness but the presence of a vibrant, effortlessly flourishing state of being that I believe every woman deserves.
A woman that always inspires me is:
My mom, who is also the one who introduced me to TCM as a kid. I joined her visit to a TCM practice and this resulted in a core memory that I have referenced countless of times ever since. Now, twenty years later, it is all becoming full circle and I can’t be more grateful for her impact on my approach and views on holistic well-being. Her endless curiosity and commitment to sharing wisdom will always inspire me to seek and share knowledge. It takes a special woman to raise 8 daughters!
I am proud of my latest:
I am proud of my resilience and curiosity that propel me to embrace the role of lifelong student in the most literal sense. I am not only proud of the knowledge I am acquiring but also of my ability to contribute to the well-being of others. This season of my life, marked by the pursuit of wisdom in Traditional Chinese Medicine, is a proud affirmation of my dedication to lifelong learning. The most beautiful part about it is that I get to share it, directly from my handpalm to yours!
When self-doubt creeps up, I try to:
I remind myself that doubt is a universal experience and a part of life’s balance. I try to ground myself in the understanding that balance is not a static state but an ongoing process, where self-doubt, insecurity and sometimes maybe even a little fear are part of the journey. I’m slowly becoming better at viewing these shaky moments of self-doubt as an opportunity for deep introspection rather than a hindrance. Getting to the bottom of those spooky questions and reassuring my heart and mind that I am here, I am doing it, it is all part of the journey, really helps me to align my thought with the rhythmic flow of life. Everything happens in seasons and cycles. I’ve also come to realize that the acceptance of the ebb and flow of confidence and self-doubt results in authenticity and even more purpose! Honesty and vulnerability always push me towards a deeper understanding of myself which in turn reinforces my commitment to guiding others on their paths inward and in holistic well-being.
A book, podcast, movie, or exhibition I recently experienced and recommend is:
Anything by Abbas Kiarostami, his movies are so slow – watching them can almost feel like a meditative practice!
