Jorijn Vriesendorp
Jorijn is a Pilates teacher, dancer, mother, and actress. Living in an old windmill just outside Amsterdam with her husband and three sons, she is returning to join us in Mallorca for the second year. Jorijn is a one-of-a-kind teacher that is hard to put into words, but once you join a class, you'll understand what is so unique about her. She is present with a lot of positive energy, not overthinking anything. Her openness and curiosity make you feel safe and welcome to explore. During her year-long stay in Curaçao during COVID, she started teaching intuitive dance with a twist of her own. Combining all the tools and knowledge she has gained over the many years of her professional career and sharing this with women has been absolutely fantastic, getting people out of their heads and into their bodies, moving so pure and beautiful. Join Jorijn at all Ascend retreats in May, June, and September.
Chloé Dokar
Chloé is a trainer and yoga teacher, the founder of Energy Energy Club and mama living with her toddler boy and husband in London. Chloé curates classes embracing both soft and strong elements, which she will take us on a journey during Forte in Portugal in May. Classes will be a combination of yoga, mindfulness, sculpt, mobility, and stretch, providing a functional yet holistic way of training, the best of both. Exploring the theme Forte, we will dive into our newfound strength, confidence, and resilience, as well as encouraging rest and calm through restorative sessions including breath, meditation, and journaling to reset and calm the nervous system—an opportunity to come back home to yourself and feel a sense of grounding. Expect to explore both Yin and Yang energy surrounded by nature, uplifting beats, and a time for reflection.
Mai invites you to join Self from 1–5 May, where she'll be guiding her fluid, dynamic yoga flows interwoven with deep stretches to create the ultimate space for lengthening, strengthening, learning and letting go. For yoga beginners and more experience practitioners alike, she'll guide you where you're at.
She curates her playlists in a way that perfectly mirror the journey on the mat, taking you on a fully transformative experience beyond just the physical. Mai’s teaching style is equal parts calming and invigorating, leaving you to feel like you’ve shed a layer and pressed the reset button.
Her two passions as a yoga teacher and ceramicist have helped her understand the importance of staying deeply rooted within yourself in a hustling environment.
Birjiwan
Singer, teacher, and long-time friend, Birjiwan will join us for a day as a guest teacher during the Self retreats. The French-born, now local Mallorquina, mostly teaches her community online, so we are very grateful to have her join us for the 4th year in person. Whether it's a Kundalini-inspired class, a sound journey, or perhaps a blend of both, remains a surprise, but rest assured that whatever journey she takes you on, she does it with a deep sense of bonding with the original essence of oneself, empowerment, and consciousness.
