Lunar Rhythms
Our signature autumn retreat in Allgäu, Germany
Friday 27 – Tuesday 31 October
Arrival between 4 – 6 pm
Departure between 10 – 11 am
Radiant is the moon, in all her phases of transformation and luminescence. Never was there a more idyllic moment to intimately gather and indulge in the quiet luxury of countryside living. Cocooning in creature comforts with restorative practices and healing time in nature.
In short, feeling and moving freely – enjoying the things in life that truly matter!
Hideaway
Das Rosso is an off-the-beaten-path, restored red farmhouse tucked in the hills of Allgäu, Germany. Overlooking the rolling hills and valleys, every part of our retreat hideaway feels cozy yet bright, contemporary yet rustic. By far our most comfortable retreat home, the three apartments have been renovated with great attention to detail, and the spacious garden is the perfect spot to unwind on a sun bed or spend hours just gazing towards the snowy mountains.
Most of our time is spent on the communal ground floor. The indoor fireplace is the centre of our large living room, where we naturally gather to share stories and brunches, browse the library for inspiration or curl up on the sofa with a book. This space leads to the yoga studio, fully equipped with mats, bolsters, blankets and blocks, so you can travel even lighter. There’s a sauna with the scent of local pine trees and (for the brave-hearts!) a fresh natural pond to cool down. It's no secret, the post-sauna dip is the favourite daily ritual of our she she team!
For sleeping and resting, all three of the apartments offer a cocoon-like environment filled with natural woods and organic linens. The under-floor heating keeps feet warm, while the south facing balconies catch the afternoon sun. You'll sleep soundly with comfortable and big double box spring beds (it's true, we tested them!), fluffy towels and bathrobe, a rainwater shower as well as a bathtub, hand-picked country furniture, high ceilings and lots of light. Each has a fully-equipped kitchen for morning coffee/tea, and there's even an additional day bed underneath the staircases, should you need a plan B to sleep. The latter was never the case, but it's nice to know there's the option.
Movement & Mindfulness
While on retreat
“Do not seek for everything to happen as you wish it would, but rather wish that everything happens as it actually will – then your life will flow well”
In line with the above stoic quote, part of our concept is that we do not reveal too many details of the program, as we want our guests to let go of any expectations and fully surrender to our experience and expertise. Yet to give you some insight: after you've woken up to the sound of cowbells and watched the sun rise over the dewy hills, enjoyed a coffee or tea and perhaps some fruit, we welcome you to a 90 minute morning meditation and movement practice daily at 9am. Followed by a big sweet and savoury home-cooked brunch at 11am and again hearty snacks or soups are served around 3pm.
From noon onwards each day looks different, interweaving sensory experiences like a seasonal cooking, aromatherapy or creative workshop, forest bathing or a yin-style movement practice – and of course plenty of free time to enjoy the sauna and simply unwind in your apartment or the comfortable living room. In the evening we gather again at the big farm table for a nourishing dinner and cosy moments at the fireplace.
Nourishment
We are delighted to welcome back our talented chef and friend Carolin from the ranks of Gaia, Lok6 and Ember. Intuitive, seasonal and inspired by the joy of hunting for regional produce, Carolin embodies she she's contemporary approach to food - thoughtful eating experiences, with an aesthetic of beautiful simplicity and honest nourishment. Each serving comes from careful consideration of the whole journey, from the roots to the table. What we eat and how we eat is a reflection of the relationship we form with ourselves, our community and our environment.
Expect a comforting vegetarian menu - using local and seasonal ingredients with the combined taste of both modern and traditional Alpine and the Mediterranean kitchen. Brunches and afternoon snacks are served casually for eating together or on one's own, while dinners are served family style, where insightful conversations can flow long into the evening.
For those who would like to enjoy a glass of wine - as many often do! - we've got you covered with delicious natural wines, as well as an alcohol-free version, available for an additional but fair price.

Travel
We will connect all guests about 2 weeks prior to the retreat, so those with a similar route can meet up and travel together.
TRAIN: We've made it very easy to come by train by offering a shuttle bus to Das Rosso, leaving from the nearest train station: Kempten Hbf (Allgäu). The shuttle leaves at 3:30pm and arrives at Das Rosso at 4pm. The shuttle is on us, just make sure to be there on time. For departure on Sunday, another shuttle leaves at 10:30am back to the train station to arrive around 11am. Should the shuttle times not work for you, a taxi from and to the station is about a 25 min ride.
CAR: Of course you can also just drive to Das Rosso, there is parking right next to the property.
AIR: The nearest airport is FFM Memmingen Airport (only a 30 min taxi ride) or MUC Munich Airport, from here it's ca. 2 hours by train to Kempten, where you can make use the shuttle. Should you stay a night in Munich before or after, we recommend the Flushing Meadows Hotel.
